Modernized Sapsan Train Traveling from St Petersburg to Nizhny Novgorod will be introduced in December 2019

The first renovated Sapsan will begin operations on December 18, 2019 from Moscow to St. Petersburg at 09:40. It will run under the number #771Н from St. Petersburg to Nizhny Novgorod on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, #757Н from Nizhny Novgorod to St. Petersburg on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and # 757A/ 774A between St. Petersburg and Moscow on Sundays.

During the renovation, the design engineers paid close attention to passenger reviews that brought attention to the absence of AC sockets and individual lightning and recommendations to increase the comfort for passengers traveling with children. The new lighting system and the window shades allow passengers to adjust the light to the time of the day and to their needs. Coolers with drinking water have been installed in each car, AC and USB sockets are installed for each passenger. Car N 2 offers a new class of tickets, “suite-cabin”. It is a small cabin for 2 people, separated by a semi-transparent glass wall with a door, with 2 seats in facing one another and a table. Car N 10 is now dedicated specifically to families traveling with children and has a place for baby strollers and a small playground in the middle of the car. A changing table has also been installed in the washroom in car 9.

JSC RZD is planning to upgrade all 16 Sapsan trains in the next 2 years.
